Judy Renshaw named Jackson Rotary Club’s Woman of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local organization takes the time to spotlight a hard worker in the Jackson community.

The Jackson Rotary Club recognized their Woman of the Year on Wednesday.

This has been the 71st year that women in the Jackson community have been nominated.

Councilman Frank McMeen, board member for the Jackson Rotary Club, shares how he knew this year’s woman was the one.

“She is in the hearts of so many people that are in the leadership role throughout Jackson,” McMeen said.

Judy Renshaw has worked with the Greater Jackson Chamber for 40 years, along with her involvement in WestStar Leadership, and the Tennessee Association of Community Leadership.

While in these positions, she has shown her hard work and dedication to the Jackson community.

“You don’t seek out recognition,” Renshaw said. “You serve because you believe in what you’re doing, you believe in the organization. You believe in the people that you’re working with. Like I’ve said many times before, it’s such a blessing to have been at the Chamber.”

Renshaw attend the meeting because her friend invited her to speak about a volunteer opportunity.

“Pam Nash had asked me if I would come talk to her about the Andrew Jackson Marathon, which I’ve been past volunteer coordinator for, and so I was just coming with her to talk about the Andrew Jackson Marathon, so it was a total surprise,” Renshaw said.

She was too choked up to share many words about this honor that all she could say in the moment was “wow.”

“It made me cry,” she said. “Having family just to surround you in that time is just precious and priceless.”

The past recipients of the Women of the Year were in attendance to support Renshaw’s accomplishments.

Renshaw shared that she was very blessed and humbled to receive this award in front of her family and friends.
