Pool time: Where you can swim in Jackson and West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn. — School is out and the weather is warming up. It’s about to get hot outside, and people are going to want to cool off, whether it’s at a local pool or a splash pad.

There’s two pools in the City of Jackson: one at the T.R. White Sportsplex, and another at the Westwood Community Center. Both of those are public pools, and if you are going to want to go you are going to need to find out what times you can go, and you may need to bring something as well.

“They’ll be open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.,” said Whitney Billingsley, Jackson Recreation and Parks Department Community Engagement Director. “It is a $2 fee to swim. So we’re asking that if you’re bringing anyone with you that we do take cash. I am not sure if we will be taking any other payment types. But it is a $2 fee for any individual that’s coming to swim.”
If you don’t live near these public pools, that is okay. A lot of our local cities and counties around the West Tennessee area have some options for you.

In Carroll County, you can go to the 1,000 Acre Lake.
In Chester County, you can swim at Chickasaw State Park or go to the splash pad at Gene Record Memorial Park.
In Hardin County, you have the Tennessee Street Park and Pickwick Landing State Park.
In Henderson County, you can go to Beech Lake, Pine Lake, the Lexington City Pool, or Natchez Trace State Park.
