A new Miss Rockabilly is crowned in Selmer

SELMER, Tenn.—There’s a new Miss Rockabilly in Selmer.

This is the Rockabilly Highway Revival’s fifteenth anniversary.

McNairy county is the birthplace for Rockabilly music. This goes back to when Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins met for the first time at Bethel Springs High School.

Their heritage inspires the next generation and the newly crowned Miss Rockabilly let’s us in on her excitement.

“So many amazing opportunities and great things I’m so excited for. Looking forward to going to the festival and get to crown people and just get to get my title out there,” said Kately Martindale, Miss Rockabilly.

It’s the Rockabilly Highway Revival’s fifteenth anniversary June 8, so don’t miss it.
