‘Soul in the Park’ brings community together in east Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — At Muse Park Sunday evening, residents celebrated for the Soul of Tennessee Foundation.
“Soul in the Park” was a free event celebrating Father’s Day and Juneteenth here in the Hub City.
Entertainment performances by Karen Wolfe and Atlanta-based guitarist Zunes were the highlight of this occasion.
If you were looking for live music, dancing, and a great time, this was the place for you.
It’s their first event like this for the Soul of Tennessee Foundation, and they are hoping for more.
“We’re fresh and this is really our first kind of opportunity to get out there and try to bring the community together and, you know, celebrate Fathers and celebrate Juneteenth, and so we’re just excited to be able to put something on like this today,” said president April Wilson.
Wilson says it’s a time to share a meal and outdoor stage with local songwriters and performers in the region.
