Still Missing: Families speak out on search for loved ones
JACKSON, Tenn. — Two families are asking for help in finding their loved ones who are currently missing.
MISSING: Yhanai Johnson, 17
“I’m currently looking for my daughter Yhanai Johnson,” Chanae Johnson told us. “She went missing Sunday [June 23] at 4:30 p.m. Literally after I finished cooking dinner. She’s out and about somewhere here in Jackson. She does have friends out in Memphis, but I don’t know any of these friends that she has out here in Jackson or in Memphis.”
Chanae Johnson, mother of 17-year-old Yhanai Johnson, says that her daughter was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black leggings cut into shorts, and beige “bubble” slides.
She’s asking that you call the authorities if you see her.
“But by now, her appearance has changed. She probably has on light mint green Pumas and probably maybe a white pair of pants and a shirt,” Johnson said. “If anybody has seen my daughter, please once again, call the authorities or call the number that’s posted on my poster with her picture on it, which is (731) 574-5541, and I appreciate it guys. Anything will help bring my baby home. I appreciate it.”
Johnson did state that she reached out to the Jackson Police Department in regards to her daughter’s disappearance.
Terry Wayne Jackson, 42
In a separate case, 42-year-old Terry Wayne Jackson has been missing since March 27.
His sister, Samatha Higby, told us that she discovered her brother was missing by her aunt nearly two weeks after he disappeared.
According to video footage provided by Higby, Jackson was last spotted on the 27th at McDonald’s in Parsons around 11 in the morning.
Higby’s husband and mother-in-law searched areas that they believed Jackson would’ve went to.
Their search led them to find his car keys in a wooded area near Kelly Cemetery in Bath Springs, which were turned in to the Parsons Police Department.
We spoke to Jackson’s aunt, Joni Herndon, who stated that since the keys were found, there has been a three-mile grid search by police around the area.
“He has a family that misses him and that wants to find him, and find justice for him if something did happen to him,” Herndon said.
She says that if people with information don’t want to talk to the authorities, then they can talk to her.
“I’m sure there’s a way that people around here can contact me through Facebook, through our page or something,” Herndon said. “I would be more than glad to talk to anybody.”
Lieutenant Adam England with Parsons Police told us that they are doing all they can to search for Jackson, and if anyone has any information, contact their dispatch number at (731) 852-3911.
