Memphis police identify body found on river bank

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Police have identified the woman whose body was found on the banks of the Mississippi River in Memphis.

Memphis police said Tuesday night the victim is 28-year-old Latisha Harris of Marion, Ark.

Police say the body was locked inside a garbage container that was found on the riverbank near the Port of Memphis on Monday morning.

Officers said they spoke with someone who saw the container floating down the river.

A cause of death has not been determined.
