JACKSON, Tenn.-West Tennesseans looking to spark their children’s imagination gathered for a workshop Thursday held by arts education expert Mitchell Korn. Korn demonstrated how to use music from radio, TV and CDs to tell stories and boost listening skills in children. The emphasis on the workshop was to teach parents and educators the skills to keep their kids engaged during reading time. “Educators are not soley responsible for the educations of children parents should be actively engaged with their kids all the time not just ok its time to wash your face and go to bed sit down with them and read with them play with them,” Kathy Canovan with the Imagination Library. Mitchell Korn has taught at Harvard University.
