Madison Co. resident celebrates 104th birthday

JACKSON, Tenn.—One Madison county resident is celebrating 104 laps around the sun.

Lessie Beatrice Cole celebrated her 104th birthday today in north Jackson.

The birthday was held at the New Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church activity center.

Cole celebrated by being surrounded by her many friends and family members, some of which came from as far as Texas.

Her granddaughter, Amanda Smith, says Cole has always made everyone she meets feel like a part of the family and she’s thankful to still have her grandmother around.

Smith also spoke about her grandmother’s devotion to Christ and her impeccable work ethic.
