Informative family affair for community residents held downtown

JACKSON, Tenn. — Community Day is an event that spreads awareness about domestic violence.

West Tennessee Legal Services, Jackson Fire Department and Women’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program were a few vendors present for guests to come to their table and learn information.
Activities included the walk of survivors, discussions about domestic violence, live music, food trucks and more.

“This is my first event that I’ve done like this for WRAP. The intention is to get out into the community and bring people together. Let them know what we’re here for, spread that awareness, educate the people of the community and let everybody have a good time.”, said Ashley Horton, domestic response specialist at WRAP.

There was also a ‘walk a mile in her shoes’ activity for participants . Unnamed 4Unnamed 3Unnamed 1
