Cancer screenings offered by a local clinic
JACKSON, TENN.—A local specialty clinic is helping others guard against cancer.
Kirkland Cancer Center hosts a lung cancer screening event today. Screenings took place from 8 this morning until five this evening at West TN Imaging Center in Jackson.
The requirements for the screening event included being over 50 years old and currently a smoker or having smoked regularly in years past.
Screening is a proactive step to help detect any potential issues early and ensure your overall well-being is in good shape.
“We’re doing a screening for anyone that qualifies. The guidelines are anybody that smoked one pack a day for 20 years or more and is under the age of 80 and has not quit smoking in the last 15 years. Just be knowledgeable about your family history, personal history, and then your smoking history as well,” said Dr. Jonathan Davis, Pulmonologist and Lead Physician for WTMG Lung Nodule Clinic.
This was the first-ever lung screening event held at Kirkland Cancer Center.
