Lakewood School students participate in TDOT’s inaugural “Paint the Plow” event
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION:
JACKSON, Tenn. – Students at Lakewood School recently showcased their artistic talents as part of the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Region 4’s inaugural “Paint the Plow” event. This event includes one school from each of the four regions across Tennessee to encourage community engagement and raise awareness of TDOT’s commitment to keeping Tennessee roads safe during winter weather.
Lakewood School students enthusiastically embraced the challenge, designing a plow blade that highlights the agriculture community, school spirit, and the importance of road safety. This project allowed students to combine creativity and community pride while contributing to an important safety message.
The painted snowplow will be featured at various community events and parades, serving as a traveling canvas for the students’ artwork. Once the winter season begins, it will be used in snow and ice removal, spreading both cheer and safety throughout the region.
