A Few Sprinkles Or Flurries North, Frigid Cold Tonight
AM Weds Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A weak disturbance will pass through in the late morning and a few snow flurries or sprinkles will be possible in the northern counties later in the morning. This system will blow through quickly and we’ll return to mostly clear skies by mid afternoon into the evening.
Temperatures will continue to drop as the night progresses. Anything heavy or snow accumulations are not likely. We should fall down near freezing by the morning and are expected to be even colder Thursday morning. Catch the latest forecast information right here.
THIS WEEK:
Highs on Wednesday will be below normal and make it up to the mid to upper 40s. We should see a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday but the winds will come out of the northwest to start the day and west by the afternoon. We will bottom out from this cold spell on Wednesday night and fall down into the mid 20s. If the skies clear, some low 20s will also be possible but we should avoid the teens this go around.
Mostly sunny skies will return on Thursday but with the light winds, so we will not be warming up much yet. As the day goes on, the winds will pick up speed and shift to the southeast, they will try to warm us back up a bit on Friday. Highs on Thursday will only reach the upper 40s. Thursday night lows are forecast to drop down into the low to mid 30s. Friday highs will be back up into the mid 50s and Friday night lows will dip down to the low 40s.
THE WEEKEND:
The next system is on the way this weekend and will bring another round of rain showers and maybe some storms trying to mix in on Saturday. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 50s before the low pressure system passes by. Expect a mostly cloudy day on Saturday, but a bit humid as well due to the southerly winds. The next front will pass later in the weekend but it will not be cooling us down much as the weekend front looks to come more in from the west instead of straight in from the north.
Highs on Sunday will also reach the low to mid 50s and Sunday night lows will fall down to around 40°, the same as Saturday night’s lows. The winds will shift back to the north late in the weekend before turning back to the southwest on Monday, beginning another warm up across the Mid South.
