Medicare Advantage: What to know about OTC benefits
JACKSON, Tenn. — Many people eligible for hundreds of dollars in savings are failing to take advantage of a program they have already qualified for.
Finance Expert Shinobu Hindert is teaming up with several brands to let Medicare Advantage members know about over-the-counter benefits they’re entitled to with many Medicare Advantage plans.
Hindert will reveal how easy it is to get many health and wellness products paid for by these plans, even though approximately 70% of over-the-counter benefits never get spent.
These products include many popular medications that treat symptoms of back pain, arthritis, hypertension, cough, cold & flu as well as products that support digestive health, dental care and even skincare.
“You would want to check with their Medicare Advantage provider to understand how often they receive new OTC allowances. The benefits do not roll over, so any unused funds expire monthly, quarterly, or on an annual basis and that’s why it’s crucial to make the most of them while they last,” said Hindert.
Hindert says it’s important to invest early in your self-care.
