Weekend fire displaces residents in Medina
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MILAN FIRE DEPARTMENT:
MEDINA, Tenn. — On Sunday December 22, 2024 at approximately 5:21 AM, the Milan Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid to a residential fire at 431 East Church St in Medina.
Medina firefighters had found a mobile home to be well involved and the fire extending to another mobile home and a vehicle. Firefighters were advised that there were no people or pets still inside the home. Firefighters initiated a fire attack using handlines and were able to successfully extinguish the fire. Mutual aid assistance was also received from Gibson County Fire Departments.
There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters at the incident. The damage estimates were not available at the time of the press release. Due to the damage to the mobile home next door, all the residents were displaced, and the American Red Cross is assisting them.
The Milan Fire Department would like to remind everyone that working smoke alarms save lives. They should be tested monthly and be less than 10 years old.
