Cold weather supplies to keep on hand as temperatures drop
JACKSON, Tenn. — As temperatures drop, there are certain supplies you’ll want to have on hand.
Examples include faucet covers, snow shovels, antifreeze and more. To prepare for an electrical outage, there are a variety of grills as well as lamp oil, flashlights and generators. For your car, de-icer and ice scrapers are highly recommended.
Plus, there is a wide selection of heaters from propane and kerosene to electric.
“The main thing, like I say, is to put on the faucet covers. Make sure that your heating has been serviced so that it does work. If you’ve got a gas fireplace, you may want to get it serviced,” said Cricket Wallsmith, general manager for Ace Hardware of Jackson.
Lastly, when temperatures reach the teens, leave faucets dripping to avoid pipes freezing.
