JPD to hold Sea of Blue, Court Room Dedication in honor of late police sergeant

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department is preparing to honor the life of a police sergeant who unexpectedly passed on January 8, 2024.

In honor of Sgt. Warren Olden, who passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2024, the Jackson Police Department will commemorate the one-year anniversary with a Sea of Blue event that was unfortunately canceled due to weather conditions.

The Sea of Blue will depart from the Civic Center, located on 400 S Highland Ave at 5 p.m.

The route will go over the Chester Street Bridge and then north on Highway 70. After taking a right turn onto Flex Drive, it will pass Parkway Memorial Gardens. The procession will then turn right at the 4-way intersection on Mifflin Road and follow East Chester back to South Royal Street. It will then end at the Jackson City Court building on Royal Street.

City Court Judge Blake Anderson will lead the dedication ceremony for the renaming of the City Court Room in honor of Sgt. Olden.
