Commissioner Gibbons Talks About TN Safety

The head of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security made a stop in West Tennessee, Friday afternoon. Commissioner Bill Gibbons visited the Tennessee Highway Patrol Office in Jackson as part of his plan to visit all THP headquarters across the state. Gibbons oversees the THP and said he hopes by visiting with troopers and other workers he can find way the Department of Safety can better serve citizens and support its staff. “These are public servants who put their lives on the line every day, said Commissioner Bill Gibbons with the Tennessee Department of Safety. “And I am going to do everything I can do to support them and give them the resources and tools they need to do their jobs.” Gibbons was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam in January. He previously served as Shelby County District Attorney for 14 years.
