RIFA to Receive $400,000 from City
A non-profit organization which helps local residents down on their luck is getting some big bucks from the city of Jackson for their new location. City council members approved $400,000 in community redevelopment money for the Regional Interfaith Associations to use to remodel the old Nando Jones and J.D. Distributors buildings on Airways Boulevard. The RIFA board approved plans last month to move its operation from the corner of North Highland and West College. Health community officials expressed and interest in the current RIFA building after their projects for 140 apartments, complete with other amenities, just behind the RIFA location was approved.
