Leaders Education Foundation kicks off inaugural fundraiser for local education initiatives

JACKSON, Tenn. — A very special guest speaker paid a visit to West Tennessee as part of one organization’s inaugural fundraising event.

As part of Leaders Education Foundation, Leaders Credit Union hosted “Empowered: An evening with Dr. John Delony” presented by West Tennessee Healthcare at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Thursday evening.

The event featured an inspiring presentation by Dr. Delony, a renowned Ramsey personality, bestselling author, and mental health expert.

The event is dedicated to provide funds for scholarships, educator grants, and other education initiatives across West Tennessee.

“Most of our events, we’re simply giving away money in forms of scholarships and grants. This is the first time we’ve really partnered with the community, doing fundraising so we can make it an even bigger and better outreach for other people,” said Leigh Anne Bentley, president of the Leaders Education Foundation.

The evening culminated with a special award ceremony honoring five exceptional individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to education in the community.

Since the inception of the Leaders Education Foundation in 2019, 176 scholarships have been given away with nearly $500,000 in educational support for students and educators.
