Game expansion takes you inside the world of ‘Avatar’

JACKSON, Tenn. — One new game expansion takes you inside the world of “Avatar.”

Ubisoft’s newest game expansion “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes Edition” lets fans step directly into Pandora.

It mirrors themes and environments in the new film “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”

Video games are becoming the new extended universe for major films and immersive tech, helping audiences not just watch a story but live in it.

“You can go see that film and just be so immersed in that world and come right home and step directly into the game, which, again, because it’s made by James Cameron’s Lightstorm, it’s canon. It is the story itself, so you actually can even extend that story in the game.”

The video game dropped Friday and is available online now.
