Andrew Stephen Ervin appeared in court this afternoon on charges of statutory rape by an authority figure.

His attorney, William D. Massey, tells us what the status of the case is currently.
“The status is that the discovery has not been completed and we’re waiting to receive that discovery before we can move forward,” said Massey.

Discovery is mandatory before a trial can take place. Because it is incomplete, a new court date of March 2 has been scheduled for Ervin.
“The judge gave us until march the second to get that discovery and review it, investigate it, and meet again and discuss it and tell him where we are come March 2,” said Massey.
The former northside church minister was removed from his position after an investigation caused by church members bringing forth allegations that Ervin had “…engaged in behavior that disqualified him from serving as a minister for the church.”
Madison County Court staff confirmed the charge involves a minor. Ervin was indicted on the charges in November 2025.
According to Ervin’s social media profile, he has been involved with at least three other churches and has been a youth pastor in the past.
