MLK Jr. Worship Celebration held in Maury City
MAURY CITY, Tenn.—One organization honors the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Maury City.
The Community Help Club sponsored an event that took place Sunday at the Community Church of God in Christ.
The group provided the event as a way to both honor and continue the work of MLK and his commitment to justice and serving the community.
The MLK Worship Celebration kicked off at 2 p.m. and included music, singing, poetry, as well as a praise dance session from local youth.
“We believe in helping people for the betterment of their life as well as the community. And we have included leaders of the community, to come and be acknowledged for their work as well to continue the dream and the vision,” said Theresa Powell, Community Help Club Advisor.
The Community Help Club is a non-profit organization providing assistance to those in need during times of hardships.
