What to know about preventing UTI’s

Urinary tract infections are one of the most common infections in the United States, with around 11-million cases reported annually.

As many women set health goals at the start of a new year, one important issue often gets overlooked: urinary tract health.

For millions, UTI’s are a recurring problem that disrupts daily life, travel, sleep, and overall wellbeing.

“Someone should absolutely check in with their doctor for any blood in the urine, fever or chills, or back pain. That can be a signal of advancing infection,” said Dr. Alyssa Dweck, fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

The majority of UTI’s occur among women who struggle with repeat infections, underscoring the significant burden of recurrent UTI’s on wellbeing and quality of life.
