City of Jackson working to keep individuals warm

JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson posted a special thank you to all the city employees and volunteers that have worked to keep individuals warm during these freezing temperatures.

The City of Jackson is providing two warming centers for those needing to get out of the cold. A special thank you went out to officers with the Jackson Police Department who stayed at the centers overnight to ensure safety.

We would like to send a big thank you to our dedicated City of Jackson, TN – Police Department who stayed through the night at our warming shelters (Jackson, TN Parks and Rec TR White Sportsplex for men; First Methodist – Downtown Jackson, TN for women and children) with the members of our unhoused community. Thank you as well to our amazing volunteers who were able to come this morning and to those who donated.
To our unhoused community: We are here, we are open, and there is a place for you. Come in out of the elements and find a warm welcome.
Remember: safety is our priority.
