Inmate Escapes From Correctional Facility

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, an inmate at the Henry County Correctional Facility walked away from work detail, Monday. Charles J. Delk, who had been serving time in Henry County for felony vandalism, had completed his sentence at the Henry County Correctional Facility and was only in Henry County awaiting pick-up from Kentucky to answer a charge there for possession of anhydrous ammonia. Delk had been a trustee since May 2013, and while serving the latter part of his two-year sentence at the Henry County jail, was on a work detail on the grounds of the jail. Delk was awaiting transport on Monday when he was discovered missing from his work assignment. Delk was last seen approximately 5 minutes prior to his leaving the grounds. Although his time was complete with Henry County on Monday, he still had outstanding charges in Kentucky and was being held by this agency for their pick-up.
