Greg Bennett setting his sights on Hardeman County Mayor 

HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — Greg Bennett, a local small business owner, announced his candidacy for Hardeman County mayor.

Bennett and his wife, Kelly, own and operate a small business in the county. He previously worked in new business development, restructuring, and sales marketing with business leaders across the country.

Bennett said the county is experiencing a declining population, empty buildings and missed opportunities for growth. He said businesses have explored opportunities in the county but chose to invest elsewhere.

Campaign priorities

Bennett said he would focus on examining policies, improving processes and creating an environment where businesses and families want to stay and grow. He said the county’s expenses are high and its tax base is low.

Bennett wants to continue supporting local businesses and emergency responders. Bennett said he is committed to making county information accessible and encouraging community involvement in local government.

Bennett described the mayor’s role as similar to a CEO position, requiring leadership, integrity and accountability. He said a mayor should be accessible and willing to listen to citizens.
