More than the titles, Mister and Miss Lane College represent a longstanding tradition of student leadership, visibility, and service that reflects the values and identity of the institution.

As official ambassadors of the College, they are entrusted with representing the institution across campus and beyond, carrying forward a legacy of excellence, influence, and responsibility.

Flagg, a native of Brownsville, Tennessee, is a sophomore music major whose platform centers on mental health awareness through the healing power of the performing arts. Through her platform on music and self-expression, she aims to create spaces for dialogue, healing, and empowerment among her peers.

“Being named Miss Lane College is both an honor and a responsibility I carry with intention,” stated Ms. Flagg. “This role gives me the opportunity to use my voice and my platform to create space for healing, expression, and connection through the arts. I want every student to feel seen, valued, and empowered to embrace who they are while growing into who they are called to be.”

Turner, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a junior physical education major who is committed to advancing men’s health and wellness. His platform focuses on encouraging preventative care, physical fitness, and open conversations around health in the Black community.

Mr. Turned reflected, “serving as Mister Lane College means leading with purpose and accountability. I see this role as an opportunity to advocate for the health and well-being of my peers, while setting a standard for discipline, consistency, and growth. I am committed to representing the College in a way that reflects strength, integrity, and a genuine investment in our community.”

Selected through a competitive process that highlights scholarship, leadership, and presence, both students will now assume roles that extend far beyond the stage. As Mister and Miss Lane College, they will serve as visible representatives of the student body and stewards of a tradition that underscores the College’s commitment to developing leaders of character and purpose.

Together, Flagg and Turner join a distinguished lineage of Lane College royalty, individuals who have embodied the spirit of the institution while leaving a lasting impact on the community at large.
