MEDINA, Tenn. – Teachers at Medina Elementary School didn’t just teach class on Monday. They served fries and Big Macs, too. The teachers were given the opportunity to work at the McDonald’s in Medina through the afternoon and evening. Participants were given money for their classrooms. They worked the drive thru and cash registers. The owner of the fast food restaurant wouldn’t say how much the teachers would receive. However, he did say he is glad to help out his community. The teachers are grateful. “Not only is education about books but it’s about a holistic view of getting help raising money,” Paula Tate said, a teacher a Medina Elementary. The is the first year for this community outreach program for McDonald’s.
