Dyersburg teens hospitalized after falling through bedroom wall
DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A normal day turned into a nightmare when two teens fell nearly 30 feet through a rental home Tuesday. Now, the family is looking for answers.

From the outside, the home sits quiet and surrounded by trees but one mother says what happened inside led to a terrible fate.
“They was just playing like normal teenagers do, and she said they wasn’t even playing for two minutes and they just went through the wall,” said LeQuisha Thomas, mother of the 14-year-old victim.
The family says two girls, aged 14 and 17, were sitting and playing on a bed inside a bedroom when suddenly they fell through a wall. A wall they say had only a thin layer of sheetrock separating the bedroom from the drop below.
“We at Le Bonheur, and my daughter has a broken neck . She’s about to have surgery in a little while,” said Thomas.
The 17-year old also sustained a back injury. The family says it’s a straight drop of nearly 30 feet down to the bottom of the home, the distance their daughter and her friend fell after the wall suddenly gave away.
“And it’s hard for me to keep seeing her in all this pain that I can’t do nothing about,” said Thomas.
Thomas says the home was in terrible condition.

“It don’t even look like it should be rented at all,” said Thomas.
As her daughter fights to recover, she’s speaking out so no one else has to experience this kind of fear. Thomas says her focus right now is on her daughter’s recovery as she searches for answers about how this could have happened.
