DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The attorney for deputy Sharon Sangster is asking the appeal to the protection order hearing for Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork hearing not to take place. According to Sangster’s attorney, the appeal hearing set for Wednesday is unnecessary due to the sheriff’s indictment, last week. The filing is asking for a “stay”, which means the protection order stay in effect. Her attorney says Woolfork’s indictment establishes the same rules as the protection order, which primarily means not having contact with his former mistress and not carrying a weapon. Woolfork’s attorney says he plans on proceeding with the hearing. It will be up to special judge Paul Summers to make the decision.
