UT Martin Reaffirmed For Accreditation

MARTIN, Tenn. — The Southern Association for Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges reaffirmed the University of Tennessee at Martin for accreditation, Tuesday. The action was announced during the annual SACS Commission on Colleges meeting in Atlanta. UT Martin Chancellor Tom Rakes was among several university officials who attended the meeting that included approximately 4,500 participants. The announcement Tuesday follows a SACS team visit to UT Martin in February as part of the university‘s 10-year review. “We are pleased with this positive report and acknowledge the successful outcome of the reaffirmation process, which reflects the hard work and dedication of many faculty and staff members who guided UT Martin through this critical process,” Rakes said. “This review makes us a better university and keeps our focus on providing students with a value-added education.” The SACS Commission on Colleges requires a five-year interim report before the next 10-year review.
