Ball Cap Bandit pleads guilty to 11 robberies
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – A Huntsville man known as the “Ball Cap Bandit” has pleaded guilty to 11 counts of bank robbery.
U.S. Attorney Joyce White said 33-year-old Cedrick Lamond Hicks entered the pleas Wednesday in federal court in Huntsville.
Hicks admitted to 10 robberies in north Alabama and one in Pulaski, Tenn. They occurred from February 2012 to March 2013. Hicks was known as the “Ball Cap Bandit” because he often wore a ball cap during his crime spree.
He is scheduled for sentencing March 25 in Huntsville. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each robbery.
