Victim in Sunday morning house fire identified

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Fire Department has identified the man killed in a house fire early Sunday morning.

Jackson fire officials say Vernon Leon Burton, 44, was found inside a home on Middle Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
