2 babies die in Tennessee home; cause unclear
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee police say a baby and toddler have been found dead inside a home, but authorities are not sure how they died.
Greeneville Police Det. Capt. Tim Davis said Wednesday that emergency dispatchers received a call at 7:48 a.m. about a 13-month-old infant in distress. Officials also found a 2-month-old unresponsive at the home.
Davis said the babies were siblings and their parents were home at the time. Davis declined to release any names or the sex of the babies.
The Greeneville Sun (http://bit.ly/1sGSP1o) reports that the parents were questioned but not detained.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been asked to help police along with the state Department of Children’s Services.
Greeneville is about 65 miles northeast of Knoxville.
