JACKSON, Tenn. — Police arrested a Delta Faucet employee accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of faucets and accessories from the plant in Jackson. “What’s wrong today is every time we catch a thief, tomorrow they’re right back out on the street,” Paul Hunt, a Delta Faucet customer, said. Danny Lee Ferguson Jr. is accused of stealing more than $10,000 in product from the Delta Faucet plant in Jackson. “Anytime I hear anything like that it concerns me, because if a company’s losing that much money, they got to make the profit line up, so we’re going to have to pay more for the product they’re making,” Hunt said. Police said a co-worker and the co-worker‘s wife bought the stolen goods from Ferguson and sold them on eBay. Investigators said Ferguson admitted to stealing faucets and accessories to fill orders. According to court documents, Ferguson was caught on camera leaving the plant with heavy boxes every two or three days since October. “Times is hard right now,” Bettie Fields, of Jackson, said. “For him to go do what he did — it’s not right.” According to an arrest warrant, investigators said they also found stolen property at Ferguson‘s house. Delta Faucet released a statement saying: “Delta Faucet Company is aware of the claims being made regarding product theft and trafficking by one of our Jackson, Tennessee, plant employees. The company has been investigating the situation and actively working with local authorities to find and address the perpetrator. This is believed to be an isolated incident, but Delta Faucet will continue to work closely with local law enforcement and has already taken action to evaluate new security measures across our plants.” Ferguson is free on a $7,500 bond, according to the Madison County Jail. According to court documents, the plant manager estimates between $11,000 and $15,000 of product was stolen from the facility.
