One Henderson girl was busy on Valentine’s Dy spreading love throughout Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Every year, Treasure Thaxton and her family collect Teddy Bears that will be given to patients in the pediatric unit of the hospital. The event is held in honor of Treasure, who was born prematurely and at times was too delicate to be held by her parents. Instead, they would place one arm of a Teddy Bear against her and hold the bear’s other arm as a way of connecting with her. “Every year we come back it’s like a strengthing process is where we see people that have gone into and became healed and it’s just a great thing every year it becomes more and more dear to our heart,” said Treasure’s father, Greg Thaxton. The pediatric unit and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, plans to keep the remaining bears and distribute them during the upcoming months.
