Man Charged in Multi-County Crime Spree

Henderson County officials believe they have caught the man responsible for multiple thefts and burglaries. James Lancaster and his girlfriend, Melissa Stansell were arrested for a home break-in that occurred last week. Investigators saID Lancaster *could* be responsible for multiple thefts in the county, involving things such as tools, tractor batteries, and scrap metal. He is also wanted for another burglary in Wayne County. Captain Tracey Grisham told 7 Eyewitness News people in the area need to be cautious about leaving out valuable materials and equipment where thieves can get to them. “I know it’s a lot of trouble. I mean, if I’m at home, I get through with a tool, I sometimes just toss it in the tool box. You need to put it where it goes. Lock it up.” Grisham said. Lancaster and Stansell remain in the Henderson County jail charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $500.
