Mardi Gras King and Queen Crowned
The City of Jackson has a new King and Queen. The Downtown Development Association and WNWS Radio hosted the ceremony Monday evening at the Downtown Tavern, where early Mardi Gras celebrations got underway. The two with the most votes were Molly Cole and Greg Grobmyer, the 2012 King and Queen of Mardi Gras celebrations in Jackson. “This has been a wonderful experience for and I feel so close to everyone that is here and supported by a lot of friends and family and it’s really a blessing to be able to do this,” said Greg Grobmyer, the Mardi Gras King. Both and Cole and Grobmyer will be featured in the Mardi Gras parade, which kicks off at 12 Noon, Tuesday in downtown Jackson. Storm Team 7 Chief Forecaster Gary Pickens will serve as Grand Marshal.
