U.S. Attorney Speaks to Students at Lane College

The top U.S. Attorney for West Tennessee spent some time on a local college campus this morning talking to students, staff and visitors. Ed Stanton, The United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee took part in the Lane College weekly chapel service. After the service, members of the judiciary and the FBI, who accompanied Stanton, took time to interact with students in classroom setting. Shelby County Circuit Judge Gina Higgins talked with students about what she does and how the system works. Lane faculty members said it is important for students to interact with community and law enforcement leaders. “These persons came from this community. They live in communities where our students have come from. that is extremely important. then you can believe it if you see it, it you can touch it and if you can hear them talk about,” said Virginia Stackens Crump, with the committee for Black History Month. Those attending today were honored for their accomplishment and contributions to the community.
