Madison Academic Decathlon Team Readies for Nationals
Members of Madison Academic’s State Championship Academic Decathlon Team put their skills to the test during a school-wide assembly, Monday morning. The AD team used the assembly as a practice for making speeches and giving interviews. AD students are gearing up for the National Academic Decathlon Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico in April. Students said that are excited to improve their performance this year. “We’re excited about the opportunity. We’ve go a great group of kids. There working very hard and we’re excited about representing Jackson, Tennessee at the national competition,” said Head Coach of the Madison of the Academic Decathlon, Don Roe. Roe said team members are studying everyday and practicing after school to prepare for the big event. One team member said being a part of the decathlon is teaching him life lessons. The A-D team will visit Bancorp South on Friday.
