Club Karma Shooting Case Headed to Grand Jury

One of the men who was inside Club Karma during that February shooting admitted in court Thursday to firing back at accused gunman Travis Steed. Steed, 30, appeared in Jackson City Court, Thursday for his preliminary hearing on two charged of aggravated assault and one count of having a gun as a convicted felon. A Jackson police officer and two witnesses, who asked not to be identified. took the stand. Both of the men said they saw Steed pull out a gun on February 26 and shoot. One witness, who identified himself as a 19-year-old Lane College student told the court he brought a .45 caliber handgun into the club and shot at Steed after he saw him argue with a group of his friends and pull a gun from his waistband. Including Steed, 20 people inside the club were injured. After hearing testimony, Judge Blake Anderson bound the case over to a grand jury.
