The Huntingdon community is still in shock following the news of a 15- year- old who drowned in attempt to save the life of his grandfather. All of the people 7 Eyewitness News spoke with said Jeremy Hill was an all-around good guy who loved sports especially basketball. Officials said they found Jeremy Hill’s body less than six hours after he disappeared while trying to save his grandfather. The family was on a fishing trip when officials said Dwayne Hill fell overboard and Jeremy dove into the Tennessee River to rescue him. The 15-year-old was successful in getting his grandfather back in the boat though the 66-year-old would die a short time later at Waverly. Friends at Huntingdon High School like Steve Stover are in shock. “I just know he was always in a good mood. He stays smiling and stuff…always trying to get people to laugh,” said Stover. Stover said Jeremy loved being a part of the Mustang basketball team and helping the team win. “I hear about him all the time up in the schools. I hear he’s dedicated to basketball and he is always working harder to be the best,” said Stover. 7 Eyewitness News attempted to interview Jeremy’s basketball coach, but he was too upset to talk on camera. He said the team will lean on one another to get through this tough time.
