Friends Accused In Attack and Robbery
Henry County investigators are searching for the men, believed to have attacked and robbed a man from McKenzie at gunpoint. “I would say he’s probably a lucky guy because you never really know what people motives are,” said Henry County Deputy Michelle Brewer. This rings true for the victim, a 28-year-old McKenzie man. He claims the suspects are his friends. Brewer said, “I would assume he must have knew these people pretty good to get in a vehicle with them and ride around.” The fun late evening drive along Perkins Road in Puryear with friends quickly took a turn for the worse. Officials said during the ride, the suspects stopped the car and pulled out a shot gun. “They pointed the shot gun at him. They robbed him of $50 cash, and punched him in the face and then took his driver’s license and told him to run,” said Deputy Brewer. Reports back up those claims. Officials observed marks to the victims right ear and cheek. “In the past we’ve had some cases that have been similar, but nothing when they hit you in the face and pulled a shot gun,” said Brewer. Deputies said the victim is okay now. He was able to flee and call another friend for help. Once the suspects are caught, they could face aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges.
