Modern Woodmen Make Donation To Carl Perkins Center
A local organization that works to prevent or help those families dealing with child abuse problems is getting a big financial boost. Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial presented a $20,000 check to the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center For The Prevention Of Child Abuse. Center officials said the donation will be used to fund programs that help families in 21 counties in West Tennessee break the cycle of child abuse. “Donations like this mean so much because we’re able to help children and change their lives and often times save their lives and so when people like Modern Woodmen step up and show their support, it makes a difference to thousands of children right here in West Tennessee,” said Pam Nash, President/CEO, Carl Perkins Center. Center leaders said April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the theme for the month is “It’s time to talk about child abuse.” The center has served families in West Tennessee for more than 32 years.
