Room in the Inn Volunteers Honored
Area Relief Ministries showed their gratitude for volunteers from the Room in the Inn program, Thursday morning. The volunteers were treated to a breakfast at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in downtown Jackson. The Room in the Inn program, with the help of churches throughout the city and county, shelters the homeless during the winter months, providing dinner, breakfast and friendship. Those who served the breakfast said this is just one way to show their gratitude for the help they have been given. “I’d like to thank all the churches because they been there,” said Stanley Bond, a volunteer. “People been so nice and so sweet and you know they just been taking care of the community and it’s a blessing that we have this kind of program.” Leaders of ARM said they are always looking for more volunteers and churches to help with the program.
