Inmates Graduate From Rehabilitation Program
Three inmates at the J. Alexander Leech Criminal Justice Complex graduated from a rehabilitation program Thursday. The inmates have been participating in the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Program since 2008. The program utilizes Moral Reconation Therapy, which is a step-by-step cognitive behavior treatment system initially designed for offender populations. MRT is designed to alter how offenders think and how they make decisions about what is right and wrong. Since 2008, 120 inmates have applied and were eligible to enter the program. Of the 120, 17 have graduated.
