Tenn. Tech faces daunting task at No. 21 Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Tennessee Tech faces a daunting task this weekend when the FCS school visits No. 21 Wisconsin.
The Golden Eagles might gain confidence from the eight games won last week by FCS school against FBS opponents.
But coach Watson Brown figures the Tennessee Tech spread offense that helped rout lower-division Cumberland last week won’t have the same success against the big-school bullies at Camp Randall Stadium.
Maybe 5-foot-7 return man Ladarius Vanlier can provide the spark for a stunner. He had a 93-yard punt return for a touchdown last week.
Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen appeared to put extra emphasis on special teams this week. Otherwise, things are going pretty well so far for the Badgers after shutting out Massachusetts last week. The running game was in midseason form.
