Benny Hendrix
Benny Hendrix, age 69, passed away on May 3, 2026, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born on June 7, 1956, in Jackson, TN, Benny lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Travis Hendrix officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Benny devoted many years to his craft as a master electrician with S.M. Lawrence, where his skill and professionalism earned the respect of colleagues and clients. Though he was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes about his character. Those who knew him remember his unwavering commitment to his work and the care he extended to those around him.
Outside of his career, Benny cherished time spent outdoors, enjoying his passion for hunting and nature. More than anything, he treasured moments with his grandchildren, finding joy in their company and the time they shared.
Benny is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marilyn Hendrix, and their children: son, Ben Hendrix (Mandi) and daughter Carrie Hendrix; his stepdaughters, Marsha Riggsbee (Cecil) and Crystal Foster (Joey), all of Jackson, TN. His also leaves his brother Will Hendrix of Alamo, TN; sisters Mary Williamson of Bells, TN, and his twin sister Nina Gooch (Leo) of Brownsville, TN. Benny’s family further includes five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and five step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Eleanor Campbell Hendrix; brothers Sam Hendrix and Edward Hendrix; and sister Nettie Duncan.
Benny Hendrix’s legacy is one of dedication, humility, and family devotion. His quiet strength and hardworking nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. The family requests that memorials be made to the Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
