Judge finds probable cause against teens

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (AP) – A judge in eastern Tennessee has found probable cause to send the case of two teenagers charged with murder to a grand jury.

The Johnson City Press reported (http://bit.ly/1tla7iW ) that a Carter County judge bound the case over after a hearing on Wednesday. The decision means 19-year-old Demetrice Dontrail Cordell and 18-year-old Anthony Joseph Lacy could be indicted in the death of 56-year-old Danny Ray Vance.

Vance’s body was found outside his home in Elizabethton on July 4.

Police say a gun was found a short time after Vance’s body was discovered. Investigator James Stevens went to the home a family member of Cordell’s and spoke to the teens after Vance’s death. Stevens says he found a gym bag with Vance’s pistol inside.
