Weather Update – 10:00 p.m. Thursday

Skies are quickly becoming clearer across West Tennessee. Tonight, temperatures will drop back below freezing for the first time in over a week! Most of West Tennessee will start Friday morning in the middle and upper 20s to low 30s at sunrise at 6:30. With sunshine, temperatures will warm up nearly 20 degrees by the afternoon to highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Cool breezes from the west will keep temperatures a bit below average for late February.

Sunshine with highs in the 60s is forecast for the weekend! A weak cold front will arrive on Sunday evening bringing a slight chance for rain and some clouds. Next week we’ll be carefully monitoring the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday when a second, stronger cold front moves through. Right now the main impacts appear to be a chance for some heavy rain at times with gusty winds and a few thunderstorms but we’ll be watching closely.
